Trust Fall

Southern born and bred, Rosalyn Greer has worked too hard for too long to let an old flame stop her rise to the top of New York’s PR world. But when Irish-American Iolan “Patrick” Monahan returns to her life after a five-year hiatus as her new client, she feels as if she’s falling without a net.

Excerpt Chapter 12

“I have another surprise for you,” he said against her mouth before kissing her again.

“Really? You’re making me feel downright neglectful with all this.”

“It’s the man’s duty to remind his lady how much she means to him, after all,” Patrick said during one final kiss before tugging on her hand and leading her to the couch. “Sit and close your eyes.”

Rosalyn did as told, tapping her fingers on her knees as she waited for whatever Patrick would do. The thought of peeking had occurred to her, but he had already gone through so much trouble, and she trusted him completely. He’d earned it.

“Open your mouth but keep your eyes closed.”

Chuckling slightly, Rosalyn did so, and she felt cool metal and warm, rich chocolate decadence enter her mouth. She moaned as she closed over the spoon, trapping the chocolate confection as he pulled out the utensil. “Patrick…”

“How does it taste?”

Without opening her eyes, Rosalyn turned to the direction of his voice, using her hand to feel where his lips were. Once she found them, she covered her mouth with his, slipping her tongue between his lips so he could taste. Patrick groaned, and she heard the clatter of dishes before he grabbed her by the waist and tugged her to his lap. She felt him then, his hardness, and she ground into it. It had been five years since she’d seen him, felt him inside her, and she had decided she had waited long enough.

“That was really good cake,” Rosalyn murmured, licking her lips for the last traces of his dessert and taste.

“Would you like more?”

“How long will it keep?”

His eyes flicked to the coffee table where the plate was then back to her eyes. “Long enough.”

Rosalyn squealed as he stood with her still in his arms, his hold steady and confident as he strode into his bedroom. Rosalyn sighed and kissed his neck, her body primed and ready for him. Once inside, he closed the door with his foot and walked to the end of the bed where he set her down slowly, making sure she felt every ridge and plane of his body.

“I do hope I haven’t been presumptuous.”

She shook her head. “No.”

“This won’t end like the last time?”

Her eyelashes fluttered, the memory of that time not as painful anymore. “Ask me to stay the night.”

“Will you stay the night?”

“Yes.”

His hands went to the tie at her front and he undid it while his eyes remained locked with hers. “Will you stay tomorrow night?”

“If you want me to.”

“I do.”

He spread the dress from her shoulders to reveal a lacy black bra and panty set, a gift courtesy of Lois and Hoa. She’d been mildly surprised when she got it earlier in the week; but when Patrick had come by that day, things had suddenly begun clicking into place. The way his hazel eyes darkened let her know her friends had made an excellent purchase on her behalf.

“Jesus, lass. Do ye know how lovely ye are?”

Instead of answering, Rosalyn shoved the jacket down his shoulders and arms before unbuttoning the shirt he wore. As his pale skin bared itself to her, she pressed her mouth against it, moving lower and lower until Patrick groaned again and lifted his head to smash his mouth against hers.
